It’s amazing how much effort one individual can put into something before they’ll throw in the towel. Many times people find that they are so persistent because they don’t want to lose or just because they feel that passionately about something. I’ve always found that women seem more eager to give it their all and maybe that’s because we’re mothers and used to giving even when we feel we’ve got nothing left to give. What I find frustrating is watching someone work so hard at something only to be defeated in the end. Of course it’s not for nothing because most times there’s at least a lesson or that path to defeat has led us to a brighter task but none the less seeing the silver lining is sometimes hard to see when we feel defeated. Lord knows that no matter how many times I’m defeated I will press on and fortunately I know my breaking point so I will continue not only to survive but also to thrive. I also know that when I’m done I am done whether it’s a job, a contest, a friendship, or a relationship. While I know some struggles are better left alone I will continue to persevere until I find the end of the road on my own terms as many of us need to do.
